Biography
Elizabeth Szendrődy formerly known as Elizabeth Andrews is currently a freelance artist in New York City dancing with Ballets With A Twist, The Eqqus Projects, and Athena Entertainment. Elizabeth is also on Faculty at The Paul Taylor School and Battery Dance.
In the past Elizabeth has also danced professionally with Neville Dance Theatre, The Edward Morgan Ballet, Summer Stage in West Side Story, and worked overseas in England with Cunard Cruise Line and Headliners Theatre Company performing many styles of Ballroom Dance, and Musical Theatre Jazz.
Elizabeth Szendrődy grew up in Utica, NY where she began her training at age 3 at Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute, now known as Utica Dance. There she studied Ballet (pointe/partnering), Modern, Jazz, Tap and African Technique. She knew in 8th grade that she wanted to pursue dance as a career. Expanding her training to Point Park University, she was exposed to the techniques of: Dunham, Graham, Dunham, Horton, Character, and Ballroom. Other skills accumulated while studying Performing Arts at Point Park University include DanceComposition, Acting, Singing, Contact Improv, Partnering (modern/contemporary/ballet), and Photography. After completing her education she graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in Performing Arts Dance.
In continuation of her training during her summers, Elizabeth traveled all over the country to learn from many reputable companies and choreographers. These include techniques of Cunningham, Taylor, Horton, Limon and Duncan; training with New York City Ballet principle dancers, Nutmeg Conservatory, The Alvin Ailey School, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and San Francisco Conservatory of Dance. Elizabeth has also had the opportunity to work choreographically with prestige artists such as Carolyn Adams, Julie Adams Strandberg, Larry Keigwin, Jackie Buglisi, Robert Battle, Bobbi Jean Smith, Matt Pardo (Lucinda Childs Company Member) and many more.
Elizabeth is also a certified Classical Pilates Instructor and uses her knowledge to help people and many dancers utilize their body efficiently and safely.
Elizabeth continues to dance, train, and audition where she resides in New York City, New York.
